How to create patterns and prints
Step 1: Choose your background
Click on the first example to choose the size and the background color of your drawing.
The maximum width and height are 100. If you choose a smaller size, the unused area will be colored grey (white in the examples).
After choosing your color and size, click on the button to set your background.
Do you like to create a repeatable pattern?
If you check the (horizontal and vertical) repeat boxes,
the added items will be repeated on the right and left and on the top and bottom.
Step 2: Choose your item
You can choose an item after clicking on the second example.
After selecting the category and item, you can change the shape and colors of the item.
Is the meaning of a setting not entirely clear?
Just have a look at the example and see how it changes.
For each item you can choose the size and rotation. Shape
Most items have more options. For example, for some items (for example the circle) you can choose the width to skew the item.
In the case of a circle, it will become an oval.
For each item you can choose a color or color range and the transparancy.
If you choose, for example, a color range of white and red, the color of the items will be white, pink or red (see the left side of the example).
If you check the option 'more different colors', the colors will be more different (as on the right side of the example left).
Some items have options to choose more colors, for example the color of the border.
Step 3: Choose your type
Do you like to add a single item?
After clicking on the last example, select the type item and click on the middle button to add an item on a random position.
Click on the drawing to draw an item at a specified position.
To add an item in the center you can click on the button 'Add in center'.
Do you like to add a pattern of items?
You can change the add type after clicking on the last example.
To spread the items more, you can choose less row and columns.
To create a more diagonal pattern, you can increase the horizontal shift distance.
To shift the whole pattern, you can specify the start positions.
Do you like to add a fractal of items?
Then you can change to this add type after clicking on the last example.
A fractal of 10 iterations will draw 10 items each turned with the set rotation and sized with the set scale factor.
To increase the three-dimensional effect, you can check one of the boxes for different colors or a color gradient.
Click the middle button to add a fractal on a random position
or click on the drawing to choose the position of the fractal.
Click the last button to add a fractal in the center.
Do you like to add a spiral of items?
Then change to this add type after clicking on the last example.
Like with the fractal, a spiral of 10 iterations will draw 10 items each turned with the set rotation.
The scale factor will resize and relocate the items.
The smaller the scale factor, the larger the distances and the difference between the sizes.
